First ever surgical gastroenterology department in the country
In 1984, the first M.Ch course was started. It was started with 2 post graduates .
From 2010 the number of post graduate seats increased form 2 to 6
The department was upgraded in the year 2014 as as Institute of surgical gastroenterology and at present functioning with one director, one professor, one associate professor and five assistant professors.
Our institute provides high quality tertiary surgical care for poor and in our and neighbouring states.
