LOCATION: 1st floor, Mudhaliar Block

  • The Neonatal ICU at the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Egmore was started in 2014.
  • It has 25 beds that provide primary care for neonates with complications at birth and preterm infants.
  • Equipped with Neonatal Ventilators, Incubators, bedside ECHO and USG.
  • Advanced facilities include:
    • Inhaled Nitric Oxide (INO)
    • High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV)
    • Cerebral Function Monitor for Augmented EEG (CFM)
  • A special MNCU (Mother and Neonatal Care Unit) was established in November 2022 for joint mother-fetus care.
  • On average, NICU treats 2,450 patients per year (2021–2023).
